What is CIPA?
CIPA stands for The Companies and Intellectual Property Authority. Established by an Act of Companies and Intellectual Property Authority Act (Cap. 42:13).
Its role is to promote and enable full protection of the rights of investors and right holders obtained under the Companies Act, Registration of Business Names Act, Industrial Property Act, and Copyright and Neighboring Rights Act.

Yes, an individual can register a company without engaging a company secretary. The Companies Act requires all companies to appoint a secretary within three months of incorporation. Failure to do so is non-compliance, which may lead to company deregistration.
