
Botswana Secures €110 Million BADEA Loan for Industrial Growth and Agricultural Research
Botswana has secured a €110 million loan from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) for the Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) to support industrial expansion and job creation. An additional €500,000 grant will fund agricultural research at the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN), aligning with the nation's economic diversification strategy.
GABORONE, BOTSWANA, The government of Botswana has secured a significant financial package from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), including a €110 million (P1.705 billion) loan for the Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) and a €500,000 (approximately P7.75 million) grant for the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN). This funding aims to bolster industrial growth, create employment opportunities, and advance agricultural research within the country, according to an announcement made during BADEA’s Board of Directors meeting in Gaborone Government backs BADEA loan.
